Environmental Stewardship
Snubbing services reduce environmental impacts by the very nature of the process. Snubbing in many cases reduces or removes the need for kill fluids normally used to work or complete candidate wells. The reduced use of chemicals and water with eventual disposal is significant. In addition, the potential damage to formations and subsequent stimulation intervention is also mitigated when using snubbing or underbalanced technology.
Our continued research and development into more advanced snubbing techniques is also contributing to more environmentally friendly operations. For example, our new T.H.O.R. unit enables maintenance on steam injection wells at high pressure without the need to first cool down the wells. By eliminating the need to re-energize the well after servicing, our new T.H.O.R. technology dramatically reduces energy usage. It also eliminates the need for toxic kill fluids, greatly reducing chemical usage and disposal.
