Coiled Tubing – Equipment

Intermediate/Deep Coil Units:

Snubco uses a two-truck coiled tubing system for operations where the coil tubing has to be run into deeper wells or where large diameter coil tubing is required. One truck consists of the coiled tubing unit, while the support truck is equipped with the crane and tools. This allows long lubricator lengths to be run in order to house long bottom hole assemblies without requiring a separate long reach crane. Coiled tubing sizes vary from 31.8 mm (1 ¼ inches) to 50.8 mm (2 inches), and injectors have 35,000 to 60,000 lbs. of pull. All units are equipped with state-of-the-art recording and modeling system including real-time software. This modeling software allows real time well parameters to be entered with the proposed coil tubing specifications to ensure safe working limits of all well bore equipment.

Intermediate Coil Units:

Snubco’s intermediate-depth coil units use a single-truck designed for working on shallow to medium depth wells. The rear mounted 20 tonne picker is on the same truck as the coil tubing component, thus allowing for ease of operations and unit maneuverability on small or crowded location.

Conventional Coiled Tubing Unit Specifications

Control Cabin: Electric/Hydraulic controls. Real time data acquisition and fatigue analysis of tubing.  Analog/Digital readouts of data analysis

Tubing Work Reels: Various 31.8 – 50.8 mm auxiliary tubing reels.

BOP System: NACE spec designed. 70 MPa wellhead working pressure (78 mm bore). Nitrogen pressured accumulator for hydraulic backup supply. Remote BOP control system. Class I, II, and III wellhead configuration under new AEUB regulations.

Tubing Injectors: Up to 28, 000 daN pulling capability. 31.8– 50.8 mm tubing sizes. 2440 mm arch radius. Infinite depth rate control. NACE spec stripper assembly with 70 mPa working pressure.

Picker Truck: 21 m boom reach

Features: Capable of traveling on 75% road bans with additional reel trailer. Snap latch between injector and BOP. Trailer mounted coiled tubing unit consisting of control cabin, interchangeable tubing reels, accumulator and BOP system, interchangeable tubing injectors and picker truck.

Tubing Injectors: 16, 000lb Pull/Snub capability. 25.4 mm – 50.8 mm tubing size range.1830 mm arch radius. Infinite depth rate control. NACE spec stripper assembly with 70 MPa working pressure.

Care: 20 ton National 600B. 360º continuous rotation.

Features: Capable of traveling 75% road bans with additional reel trailer. Snap latch between injector and BOP. Trailer mounted coiled tubing unit consisting of control cabin, interchangeable tubing reels, accumulator and BOP systems, interchangeable tubing injectors and 20 ton crane.
