Coil Tubing Services

In the fall of 2006 the Snubco Group will be introducing Coil Tubing units to augment its current fleet of service equipment and well control services. The Snubco Group will add 2 new Coil tubing units capable of depths of 4000 m. One unit will carry 1 ½ “(38.1mm) coil tubing while the other will be outfitted with 1 1/4'” (31.75mm) coil tubing. Both coil tubing units will be capable of running tubing up to 50.8 mm. The Coil tubing units will have 10,000 psi BOPs, electronic recording for depths and ability to track pipe fatigue. The smaller unit will have a crane mounted on the trailer and have a Hydra rig model 635 injector capable of pulling 35,000 pounds. The second unit is a trailer with a separate 26 ton rear mounted crane unit with Hydra rig model 660 injector capable of pulling 60,000 pounds.

Coil tubing units are used for performing well bore cleanouts, spotting stimulation fluids accurately in the well bore, the running, setting and pulling of bridge plugs or inflatable packers, milling and velocity strings.

Coil tubing is a long continuous spool of tubing which can be ran or pulled from a live well and enables the operator the ability to pump fluids or inert gases at the same time as the string is being moved. The ability to pump at the same time the string is being moved makes Coil Tubing an excellent operation for performing well bore clean outs.
