Optic System

opticTo enhance communication with our field employees and improve our safety management system, Snubco has recently purchased the Optic computer based program. This safety management tool will serve to be a great resource to both those in the field and at our office. The reason for investing in the safety management program is that the health, safety and well being of all our employees at Snubco are considered one of our most important responsibilities.

The Optic System will allow Snubco to keep track of all training courses for our employees, providing details as to renewal dates, schedules and required courses. In addition, field employees will have easy access to MSDS’s, approved contractors, action items and job hazard analysis. Another benefit of this computer based safety system will be the 24 hour easy access for finding information on safety alerts, incident investigation reports and inspection reports.

Training will be provided to employees as soon as all the required details and forms have been inputted. The system is very user-friendly and will prove to be beneficial for all those who use it.

 Safety stand down

The feedback was very positive and informative regarding various ways that we can improve our safety program. During Safety Stand Down Week S-4, S-19, S-18, S-17, N2, SC1, S-22, S-15 and N6 were all visited. The main topic of discussion was safe driving including weather conditions, defensive driving, driver fatigue and other hazards that may be encountered on the road. A key point being that driving safely is a conscious decision that has to be made and that safe driving should be done all the time, not just when at work. Overall safety stand down week proved to be very successful in obtaining safety suggestions to further create a positive safety culture at Snubco.
