SNUBCO believes in having a strong safety and incident control program to ensure the health, safety and well being of employees, customers and the public. Our safety record is one of the best in the industry with no serious injuries, accidents or incidents in our history. We achieve this by working together to sustain the safest work environment possible. Snubco has received the “Certificate of Recognition from the Alberta Association for Safety Partnerships with an average score of 95% for each audit year. In addition, SNUBCO maintains a comprehensive Policy and Procedures Manual – an active document that outlines all formal safety policies and job specific procedures. As snubbing technology expands, the need for additions to the manual is constant. Every employee contributes, so that future employees can benefit from past experience. Anyone within SNUBCO can contribute to improving or upgrading the policies and procedures manual; it is re-evaluated every year. Snubco considers Safety training a “life-long learning” process and continually develops specialized workshops to keep up to date on safety topics related to our industry. All Snubco equipment undergoes a rigorous inspection and certification schedule. The results are documented at a frequency level that often exceeds governing body regulations. Our equipment is constantly maintained and improved based on feedback from our team to ensure the safest equipment possible. The Optic System will allow Snubco to keep track of all training courses for our employees, providing details as to renewal dates, schedules and required courses. In addition, field employees will have easy access to MSDS’s, approved contractors, action items and job hazard analysis. Another benefit of this computer based safety system will be the 24 hour easy access for finding information on safety alerts, incident investigation reports and inspection reports. Training will be provided to employees as soon as all the required details and forms have been inputted. The system is very user-friendly and will prove to be beneficial for all those who use it. Safety Stand Down Week – January 15 – 19, 2007 The Snubco Group of Companies firmly believes in participating in Safety Stand Down Week each year to express management’s ongoing commitment to our safety program. Senior Managers go out to meet with each member of every crew in order to discuss any safety suggestions or concerns. This year our President, three other Owners, Grande Prairie Operations Manager and three members from our Safety Department went out into the field during Safety Stand Down Week.
The feedback was very positive and informative regarding various ways that we can improve our safety program. During Safety Stand Down Week S-4, S-19, S-18, S-17, N2, SC1, S-22, S-15 and N6 were all visited. The main topic of discussion was safe driving including weather conditions, defensive driving, driver fatigue and other hazards that may be encountered on the road. A key point being that driving safely is a conscious decision that has to be made and that safe driving should be done all the time, not just when at work. Overall safety stand down week proved to be very successful in obtaining safety suggestions to further create a positive safety culture at Snubco. Safety Stand Down Week – January 9 – 13, 2006 Snubco Pressure Control firmly believes in participating in Safety Stand Down Week each year to express management’s ongoing commitment to our safety program. We take pride in maintaining a safe working environment for our employees, contractors and customers. This year, our president and six other key members of management, went out into the field to meet with each crew to discuss any safety suggestions or concerns. Our management team also visited with our customers, their supervisors and consultants, at the well sites, in order to find out how our crews were performing. The feedback was very positive and all of the employees indicated that they appreciated management’s focus on their safety issues and suggestions. In addition, each of our customer’s well site supervisors mentioned that they were very happy with our crews and some wanted the same crew for their next job. During safety stand down week, all of our well sites were visited in Alberta and British Columbia. For a total of nine, consisting of the Nitrogen unit, the Self-Contained unit (SC1), S3, S15, S16, S17, S18, S19 and S4. Overall, safety stand down week proved to be very successful in obtaining safety suggestions to further create a positive safety culture at Snubco Pressure Control. Perception Survey Results . . . some highlights In my company, the training needed to work safely is provided to all employees. 100% of those who participated in the survey strongly agree with the statement. Employees in my company are properly trained to safely lift heavy loads on a regular basis. 100% of those who participated in the survey agree or strongly agree. Employees in my company are properly trained in the principles and use of fall protection if necessary. 100% of those who participated in the survey agree or strongly agree. At Snubco, we believe in integrity, honesty and respect in all workplace relationships.
